Last night, at 2:30 a.m. local time, the Zionist entity — in violation of the terms of the ceasefire agreement — again accelerated its war on Gaza. The footage we are seeing is all the more horrifying because it is familiar: Hospitals filling with bodies; Palestinians killed in their sleep instead of waking up for suhoor; hundreds more injured by relentless, indiscriminate airstrikes. In a tweet, journalist Anas Al-Sharif wrote that it felt as if the first days of war had returned. Today we woke up to the news that Israel has martyred 412 Palestinians so far in this latest round of killing. This latest assault comes after two weeks of the Occupation barring aid from reaching the besieged Gaza Strip, escalating an already dire famine. The Israeli Occupation Forces have issued new displacement orders for several areas of Gaza, forcing people to once again gather their few belongings and head towards the unknown. Notably, these orders were announced after the bombing began. The Occupation attacks from the ground and from the sky with planes, tanks, and quadcopters, all under the falsified pretext that it is Hamas who has violated the ceasefire agreement. Israel never really ceased fire, instead attempting to unilaterally change the terms of the agreement. Palestinians face total war wherever they carve out a home. In the occupied West Bank, the occupation army continues to carry out nighttime raids of cities and refugee camps. Zionist soldiers kidnap residents, destroy homes, and bulldoze the roads connecting villages. This campaign of terror has spread across the occupied West Bank since late January, displacing over 40,000 Palestinians. Yet all this would be news to you if, until now, you’d only read American newspapers. To abet these attacks, Trump’s government has expanded its racist campaign against immigrants to include those who speak against genocide and for liberation. The abductions of Mahmoud Khalil and Leqaa Korda, the deportation of Dr. Rasha Alawieh, and the firing of Helyeh Doutaghi, to name a few instances of desperate, fascist repression, are meant to extinguish the liberation movement in the diaspora. Zionists in Israel and in America, whose relentless manufacturing of consent has failed to outpace support for Palestinian resistance, must now resort to the crudest forms of silencing as they plan to commit this new phase of the genocide under cover of darkness. They won’t succeed. We are asking you and ourselves: What kind of world are we willing to fight for? What is the purpose of our movements if not to respond to moments like this with the full force of our collective power? Fascism tries to convince us that our work is fruitless, that we cannot match the pace of the death machine. But there is power yet to take, rights we must make. So do not lose heart. Remain focused and steadfast until Palestine is liberated, from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.
